Great Portfolio in Jade Magazine Issue 136

This month’s issue of Jade magazine features a large portfolio of my UV images where a grand total of twenty four images over seventeen pages are deftly supported by an excellent and extensive biography.

JADE exists to promote and foster new and established talent from the erotic art world. The ethos of the magazine is to present to a wider, mature and appreciative audience both new and established talents in the world of erotica for the pleasure and enjoyment of both men and women.

Urban Experience Exhibition at Nude Tin Can Gallery

City life is busy, dirty, chaotic…it’s also inspiring, rich and exciting…it’s dark, gritty, it’s scary…it’s beautiful, it’s heart stopping.

My fluorescent acrylic on canvas painting “UV Liquid Gold” has been retained from the Erotica exhibition for inclusion in Nude Tin Can Gallery’s next exhibition “Urban Experience”.

The world has become more urban than rural. Populations have soared in cities since the 1950’s. Human proximity has been rising as a result of increased world population. We will be showcasing a serious collection of Modern Art influenced by modern life and/or urban living. Original paintings and other artworks that capture the expressions of urban life. People coexist amongst the bricks and mortar there are human elements to urban life and the interaction of both.

12 Inches of Sin Kickstarter Campaign Exceeds $25,000 Target

The Kickstarter Campaign to publish an elegantly curated four-volume set of books featuring all the erotic artwork from the last four years of the “12 inches of Sin” exhibition has reached and passed it’s $25,000 target. The four volumes feature 126 artists from 16 countries including several images by Robert Babylon.

“Wow, I am speechless… $25,000! I was not expecting this and I am overjoyed, grateful, proud, crying, dancing, and… you name it! I’m feeling it.

I am going to come up with more creative ideas so that pledges may still be fun and exciting! I must say, it is rather hard to top the double-entendre reward ideas, but I have 11 days to go to think of something.

The eagle-eyed amongst you may have noticed that JADE magazine is now the “Official Magazine of The Guild of Erotic Artists”. Whilst last months issue featured one of Robert Babylon’s images, this month (May) features a whole portfolio of his work.

Babylon Images at Sin City Gallery in Las Vegas

Robert Babylon’s award winning erotic UV (blacklight) photographs are once again to be displayed at Sin City Gallery, voted one of America’s top 5 Galleries and the best art gallery in Nevada.

The images will be on display as part of the 12″ Sin juried competition and exhibition in which Robert won a place in January with “Blacklight BumbleBee Legs”. SinCity Gallery will also be marketing more of Robert’s unique and erotic work through their gallery and website.

12 Inches of Sin features sophisticated, intelligent, witty and provocative artworks from around the world. The juried exhibition explores eroticism and sensuality through the lens of contemporary art, with one twist: every piece submitted for consideration must not be larger than one foot square. This constriction of the art’s physical space creates a tension within the art itself, expanding the challenge inherent in each piece’s creation.

The exhibition fosters fresh and exciting work by both new and established artists, and provides art patrons with the opportunity to secure works of art from prestigious and emerging artists that embody both the cutting edge of today’s contemporary art world and the vast breadth of artistic expression.

Win a Free Photo Shoot with Robert Babylon at The Brighton Fetish Weekend

The Brighton Fetish Weekend 2014 runs from Friday 27th to Sunday 29th June. Tickets are available for individual events but weekend tickets for admission to all the events are the best value at only £40.

Robert will be taking a major role at this year’s Brighton Fetish Weekend by offering a free photo shoot prize for ticket holders. One of the issues with erotic photography is that many people are reluctant to be recognised, which is a shame because the human body should be a cause for celebration. We hope that we have come up with a solution: a photo competition which doesn’t include faces.

An advance purchase of any BFW ticket entitles you to submit a kinky photo of your good self (which may be of your body only, not showing your head or face), with a view to winning the truly amazing First Prize: a professional “Body Landscapes and Abstracts” photo shoot (valued at £400) by Robert Babylon at his Hampshire studio.

How to enter: You will need to be in possession of any advance ticket for the weekend, purchased through the Tickets section of the website at http://www.brightonfetishweekend.co.uk. Once you have received your email notification from WeGotTickets, please forward that to us at bfetw@outlook.com, together with the image you would like to submit.

The judges are not looking for technical ability, or quality of image in your entry, instead we are looking for witty and erotic originality. So cameraphones, box-brownies and Hasselblads all have an equal chance of winning. It’s artistic composition not the depth of your pockets we are interested in.

Robert’s work will be on show at the events during the weekend and he has provided the key image for the BFW advertising along with many other photographs.

Roberts images will be screened during the Fetish Expo on Saturday afternoon (12:00-18:00), where his work will be on sale along with that of other erotic artists and photographers.

For The USA “The3 UV Bums” was probably not my best choice of title, perhaps the transatlantic version should be titled “The 3 Blacklight Booty”
